This pastel was created as a part of a 50 card Spirit Animal Affirmation deck I co-created with Terri Dennis. Because both Terri and I have strong connections to the great horn owl, we chose to include this majestic animal in the project. Here is the message found on this particular card. " Like the great horned owl, I fly quietly through life, but aviate with exceptional acumen, stealth and fortitude. Although I have keen vision and a knack for staying focused on an important target in my life. I will consider situations from all angles and novel perspectives before settling on a particular goal. I will fiercely protect that which is dear to me, making me an extraordinary partner and dedicated friend to others. I am a profoundly mystical being: I am attracted to esoteric knowledge, and I keep an open bridge with the spiritual realms."

ABOUT THE ARTIST
A naturalist at heart; my work comes from a place of unconditional love for the Earth and all of its marvelous ecosystems. Many of my pastels and oil paintings include animals, trees, plants and creatures that emphasize this strong connection to nature. My hope is that through viewing my art you will be inspired to explore a variety of emotions in tandem with the environment. In addition to creating art, I also practice and instruct qigong, yoga and lead Outdoor Mindfulness walks.
