Merryvale Vineyards 2016 Chairman's Selection Red Wine, 1 Bottle: Our Chairman?s Selection Red Wine is a Cabernet-based blend sourced from select hillside vineyards in Napa Valley. Every vintage, In 2016, the fruit was harvested in early October, double sorted upon arrival at the winery and fermented in a 5-ton tank. Native fermentation started after a 5-day cold soak and total time in tank went from 15 to 20 days with daily pump overs. Malolactic fermentation occurred in barrel and the wine was racked every 6 months. The wine was aged for 22 months in 60% new French oak barrels and bottled without fining or filtration.

The Chairman?s Selection showcases mountain vineyards and the incredible character that they produce?wines with intensity and power. On the nose the wine shows tones of plum, mocha, cacao, savory herbs and a touch of oak. The mouth is broad with a touch of acid starting on the front of the palate, then the sweetness shows through, further broadening the wine. Fairly weighty, but with great balance and softness at the same time. It shows incredible character without being heavy. With proper cellaring, this wine will drink beautifully for the next 10 to 15 years..

Blend: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Malbec

Vineyards: Stagecoach plus other select vineyards

Jarvis Estate 2015 "Lake William" Napa Valley Red Blend, 1 Bottle: In 1993, one dark night during fermentation pumpovers, William Jarvis accidentally pumped a third of a tank of Cabernet Franc into a tank of Cabernet Sauvignon. Both he and our winemaker consultant Dimitri Tchelistcheff were distraught until the fermentation was complete and Dimitri declared the wine ?not that bad?. The accidental blend, something akin to a Bordeaux Blend was an immediate hit with the winery guests and since 1996, Lake William has been made yearly with that same blend of red grapes always coming from the vineyards cooled by the breezes off Lake William.

The 2015 Lake William reflects the totality of its provenance and the promise our founder first saw when walking the property. Each facet combines to provide a harmonic balance of freshness, energy, and tannin. Warming notes of graphite, wet stone, and spice melodiously integrate with dark fig, blackberry, and dark chocolate on the palate. The density of fruit provides generous weight that leads to a long and vibrant finish.

Blend: Cabernet Franc 40%, Cabernet Sauvignon 29%, Merlot 29% & Petit Verdot 2%

Fleury Estate Winery 2016 Napa Valley Passionne Red Wine, 1 Bottle: A deep set garnet in color, the 2016 Passionné embodies elegance and makes a statement from the beginning. Copious aromas of red fruits, tobacco, damp earth, pencil lead, and cocoa first hit the nose. As time allows, layers of bay leaf, cigar box and floral hints accompany. In the mouth, the purity of the fruit and weight to the mid-palate lend to one needing another sip. Flavors of deep raspberry, cassis, graphite and cocoa are followed by soft, lush tannin. It has a persistence which lingers on the tongue. Bountiful in nature, velvety yet stately, this profoundly balanced expression of Cabernet Sauvignon lends itself to being drinkable today, but also promises a long life in the cellar.

Sourced from vineyards both owned and purchased by Fleury Estate, the Passionné is a Bordeaux-style wine of distinction. The Fleury Estate Passionné is a harmonious blend; highlighting the king of all grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon. A beautiful dark set color sets the stage. The blending of varietals at select percentages combines a deep full core and nuanced notes in a wonderful, enticing medley. Layers of dark fruit, mocha, spices and stunning intensity complement a silky and elegant palate.

Hand-harvested, picked at night Hand-sorted while still cold from the field Fermented in small, closed top, stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts 5-day cold soak, 24 to 32 days total maceration Gentle pumpovers and delestage Spontaneous malolactic fermentation in barrels Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot

Hudson Ranch 2018 Carneros, Napa Valley Estate Phoenix, 1 Bottle: The 2018 Phoenix is a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc and was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, 80% new. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the nose is redolent of warm plums, black cherries and black raspberries with suggestions of garrigue, menthol, pencil lead and roses. It is rich in flavor but athletic, finishing with firm but very fine tannins. Medium-bodied, velvety and with great freshness, the palate delivers vibrant, crunchy fruit and a good long, mineral-tinged finish.

Blend: Merlot 60%, Cabernet Franc 40%

Jarvis wines are all produced from estate vineyards, located high above the city of Napa, in the beautifully rugged mountains between Mt. George and Milliken Canyon at the southeastern end of the Napa Valley. The vineyards are planted in gently sloping meadows one thousand feet above the valley floor. As the cool maritime air passes over the Carneros flats and begins flowing into the valley, it falls about seven degrees in temperature for the thousand feet of vertical rise. As such, our vineyards tend to be cooler by several degrees than the famous Carneros region! These cooler temperatures allow a long ?hang time,? which permits a long, slow fruit maturation for maximum flavor and concentration at harvest. www.jarviswines.com
