ABOUT THE ARTIST

Visual Artist | Social Worker | Photographer & Performer. Gunjan Tyagi's artistic idiom spans across site-specific installations, performance, paintings, and mixed media works. The human figure is at the center of her practice, perhaps to compensate for her lonely childhood. But it is this motif that unifies her practice as she articulates her abiding engagement with people and their complex emotions. Her paintings seem to be narrative but she likes her viewers to have their own version of it. Her works are installed in Hungary, Japan, Nepal, South Korea & Mauritius. She has an MFA from Sir J.J.School of Art Mumbai (2010) & BFA from Dept of Fine art, Kurukshetra University (2008).
