Mixed media artwork by Sabina Malik. In excellent condition. Orginally submitted to an Amnesty International (Vancouver) art exhibition and sale in 2009 on the theme of "Demand Dignity". 18" x 24".

Item Special Note

Artist Bio: 

Sabina Malik was born on December 26, 1977, In Brownsville, Texas. She grew up in Canada in the Okanagan Valley, and studied International Relations (BA) and Art History (BA) in Los Angeles from 1995 to 2000, and International Development (MA) in New York from 2001 to 2002.

From 2003 to 2008, Sabina spent her time volunteering on various human rights projects in Albania, Laos, Switzerland, and Cambodia. It was during this time that Sabina developed an interest in photography and started using her camera to capture what she saw.

Sabina sees the world through the lens of her human rights work, and her photographs often depict third world social issues such as the reality of child labour, the scourge of landmines, the legacy of war, and the ramifications of economic development.
