The original Wollaston Golf Club on West Squantum Street in Quincy dates back to 1895.  Francis Ouimet used the course for his practice rounds prior to competing in the British Opens and Amateurs.  He found the wind conditions and the wide variety of topography well suited for the preparation needed to compete overseas.  In the early 1970's, the members of the Wollaston Golf Club constructed their new championship course in Milton with the aid of a grant from the  Bureau of Outdoor Recreation the County of Norfolk.

The golf course, designed by golf architects George and Tom Fazio, has played host to a number of championships over the years. One of the most recent was the 1992 U.S. Junior Championship which was the second of three that Tiger Woods won.

The course, nestled in the Blue Hills, plays through 6,793 yards of tall pines and a few ponds on the front nine. In contrast, the back has a more open feel to it and concludes with an uphill 435 yard par 4.  This closing hole plays longer than the yardage on the card due to a severe uphill approach shot to the undulated green complex.

Wollaston Golf Club is a club of men and women who, through their love of the game,   continue to improve upon the history of our club for future generations.
