$5,000 Get on the Peace Bus – Support Javier Sicilia & Peace in Mexico.
Help pay for a bus to take Javier Sicilia from San Diego, CA to Washington DC with his message of peace. We are hosting a bi-national peace caravan with Mexico peace movement (Mexico Peace and Justice with Dignity) leader Javier Sicilia that will travel from the US/Mexico in San Diego, CA to Washington DC.
Mexico Human Rights Program: Since 1994 the Global Exchange Mexico Program has worked to strengthen the voice of Mexico’s human rights and civil society organizations while challenging U.S. policies.
With Your Support We Will:
Organize A Trans-border Caravan for Peace and Justice in Mexico, Led by Poet Javier Sicilia
The great Mexican poet and peace activist Javier Sicilia will lead a group of Mexican drug war victims, as well as artists, journalists, activists and progressive opinion leaders from south of the border, on a six-week caravan across the United States this coming summer.
Global Exchange has been asked to spearhead the logistics and planning of the summer caravan. This planning includes: organizing transportation from city to city, arranging lodging and host stays for caravan participants, identifying media targets and meeting with editorial boards in various cities, and much more
