Item Description

Sherry Buckner has been involved with the auction for several years, donating a new and reliably delightful hand-pulled silkscreen print each time, and 2014 is no different. Winter Wren in Huckleberry is this year's treat. The wrens are handpainted.

Sherry says of the birds that, "One day I was walking through my yard and a tiny Pacific Wren saw me from inside of a rhododendren, and instead of flying away, it moved closer to me. She or he got as close as possible and then leaned under the leaves to look at me....so we made eye contact. These birds live at the edges of forests and are very alert and a bit sassy. This little bird became a subject for a new print. I wanted some air in the print and a feeling of being over the ground in an intimate and protected way."

The 8-colour print with handpainted birds was silkscreened at Red Twig Studio in Olympia, Washington. It is one of a limited edition.

Dimensions: 12" x 15.5" printed on archival paper, hand-pulled on 100% cotton printmaking paper.
