Harrison Ford, actor and pilot, will be attending the AOPA Foundation’s A Night for Flight gala to support general aviation. AOPA Pilot Editor in Chief, Tom Haines will complete the table of eight with three pairs of tickets up for auction. The top bid will receive two tickets for the AOPA Foundation’s A Night for Flight Gala event on the evening of Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the beautiful Riviera Palm Springs Resort.

Harrison Ford
Harrison Ford is best known for his feature roles in the original Star Wars trilogy (Han Solo), Indiana Jones film series (Indiana Jones), Six Days Seven Nights, Blade Runner, Witness, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, Presumed Innocent, The Fugitive, Air Force One, and What Lies Beneath. Ford was ranked # 1 in Empire's "The Top 100 Movie Stars of All Time" list in 1997. As of July 2008, the United States domestic box office reported that Ford is the third highest grossing U.S. domestic box-office star.

Tom Haines
AOPA Editor in Chief Tom Haines has flown more than 100 models of general aviation aircraft all over the globe, including most recently a tour around southern Africa, which he described in the August 2012 issue of AOPA PILOT. Haines has been editor in chief and senior vice president of the world’s largest aviation magazine for 18 years, longer than anyone has ever held that position. In addition to his role in overseeing all of the editorial content from all of AOPA’s many media channels, he is the host of the new AOPA Live This Week video magazine, available for streaming from AOPA Online every Thursday.
Haines and Harrison Ford have worked together on numerous editorial and advocacy projects over the years, including the GA Services America Campaign in 2009 when Ford came on board as a national spokesman.
