Item Description

Original Watercolor Painting by Columbus Architect George Acock. Mr. Acock grew up in central Ohio and attended the Ohio State University. George has designed numerous Columbus landmarks such as the Limited Brands corporate headquarters buildings, the Beggs building on the south side of Capital Square, the recently renovated Thompson Library on the OSU campus and the new residence halls & Crane Student Center on the CCAD campus. George enjoys painting images of his projects but also paints when he and his wife travel the world, typically returning from a trip with dozens of watercolors that document his travels. His most recent show at the Mahan Gallery in the short north was well received and included paintings from Spain, Cuba, Utah and Italy.

  • The auction image is an original watercolor painting done by George in 2005 illustrating the site of an old silver mine near Park City, Utah that has been renovated by new owners as an eco-retreat.
