Want to help make an Idaho Wildlife Management Area more "wildlife friendly"?
TWO PEOPLE will assist the Idaho Department of Fish and Game wildlife manager and technician with animal counts, habitat use and basic "on the ground" wildlife management area work such as pushing irrigation water, looking for and marking noxious weeds. Dinner and breakfast are included.
The 2009 winning bidder brought his teenage son and together they assisted in the day-to-day chores of a wildlife management area and enjoyed the hiking and birding.
Winning bidders will stay ONE NIGHT at the Idaho Department of Fish and Game's Big Cottonwood Wildlife Management Area house, northwest of Oakley in south central Idaho. Spring is a great time to see the Rio Grand turkeys in full strut. Approximately 125 of the birds call the wildlife management area "home". Opportunities to view several raptor species, mule deer, songbirds and bighorn sheep. Trip includes educational visit to nearby City of Rocks National Reserve and the new Castle Rocks State Park near Almo, Idaho. Remember to pack binoculars and cameras.
Winning bidders provide sleeping bags, clothing, rain gear, hiking boots, work gloves and snacks.
Big Cottonwood Canyon is an awesome place to visit any time of the year. OPTIMUM time is BETWEEN APRIL 14 AND MAY 31, 2010 (excluding holidays).
Winning bidders provide transportation to the Big Cottonwood Wildlife Management Area near Oakley, Idaho.

Best time for bird viewing is between April 14 and May 31, 2010, excluding holidays.
Winning bidder will be contacted by Idaho Fish and Wildlife Foundation staff to schedule and confirm trip date.
PLEASE NOTE: In addition to the winning bid price a 3.45% credit card fee, plus 35 cents per transaction will be applied to each item. A 6% Idaho Sales Tax will be added to the final bid price for all land-based trips. For all navigable water-based trips, no sales tax will be charged due to Federal law. All sales are final.
