Item Description
"Courageous" captures both inner strength and loving kindness. Created by Tashi Mannox this Tibetan calligraphy brings together the principles of warrior's bravery and tender heart.
Three distinct script styles have been used in this calligraphy. Starting from the top is the word compassion in a combination Drutsa script and, below that, the word strength in a Tsugthung script. The style at the bottom means 'to have' in a Uchen script.
Tashi Mannox apprenticed for 17 years under master artist Sherab Palden Beru. Building on this foundation he brought further personal training and meditative experience to bear. Over time he has produced a collection of iconographic works that reveal powerful, spiritual themes using the majestic images of Tibetan Buddhist calligraphy and iconography.
