About Sean D. Tucker

With more than 20,000 flight hours, Sean D. Tucker is "Aerobatics' Own Ambassador". Fiercely competitive, Sean readily admits he was once afraid of flying. To conquer his fears, he enrolled in an aerobatic training course, overcoming what seemed like impossible obstacles.

By 1988, Sean was crowned the U.S. National Advanced Category Aerobatic Champion and is now one of the premiere air show performers and aerobatic pilots in the world! He currently serves as a FAA designated ACE (Aerobatic Competency Evaluator). No one who has ever seen Sean fly will ever forget it . . . and no one who has ever met him, or learned from him, will either.

Sean D. Tucker's life is marked by a search for excellence and perfected skill. He is not satisfied unless he is learning, refining a skill, or conquering a fear. Whether he is heli-skiing, cave SCUBA diving, golfing, or flying his one-of-a kind aerobatic dream machine, Sean D. Tucker is full-throttle and extremely accomplished.

In airshow flying, Sean is the world's premier performer in terms of entertainment value, piloting skill and most importantly, professionalism. He has been flying airshows world-wide since the mid-70's and has won numerous aerobatic competitions. In that time, Sean has flown more than 1000 performances at more than 425 airshows, in front of more than 80 million fans. In the upcoming season alone, Tucker and Team Oracle will entertain nearly 10 million fans at 15 shows throughout North America. The level of professionalism and excitement in Sean's airshow displays is no coincidence. He practices his airshow routine three times every day. Sean has devoted his entire adult life to exploring the art of aerobatic flight and after over 10,000 life-time practices, his passion continues to grow. He is more inspired by the magic and discipline of flight every single year and he continues to improve his skills as an aviator.

Become a complete pilot: fly Tutima!

The Tutima Academy offers custom tailored rides for those adventurous souls and lovers of aviation.

From gentle loops and rolls, to full out Power Aerobatics, you decide your level of comfort and we design the ride that suits you.

Location

The Tutima Academy is based at the Mesa Del Rey airport (KKIC), in King City California. Located in the heart of the scenic Salinas valley along California’s central coast, King City can boast some of the best flying weather in the US. The nearby Pacific Ocean keeps the weather mild, and the Big Sur mountains to our West block most of the winter rains from spoiling our flying. King City has more than 360 days of flyable VFR weather per year. We think it’s perfect.

Our 3-mile circumference FAA waivered aerobatic practice area is less than a quarter mile adjacent to the runway, making the commute back and forth very brief. The airspace is also NOTAMed as such and is monitored by Oakland ARTCC, significantly decreasing the traffic in the area (not that we don’t keep looking!). We are also close enough to the airport so that coaching and critiquing can be accomplished from the comfort of the door to our briefing room.

There is plenty to do in the area surrounding King City

The Tutima We are located less than an hour drive from Monterey, two and a half hours to the San Francisco Bay Area, and about five hours from Los Angeles.

Item Special Note

Travel and accomodations are not included. The flying and Heavenly experience must be accomplished during the same trip.
