Item Description
Woman Suffrage Press-Proofs, Set #2 of 2 – New York Images
Here are six visually strong, historic woman suffrage images from the book, “Winning the Vote: The Triumph of the American Woman Suffrage Movement” by Robert P. J. Cooney, Jr. (American Graphic Press: 2005). Wonderful for framing or use in displays, collections or art projects. Image sizes are approximate. These are working pre-press screened proofs, scanned from original artwork or photographs, which were used to check reproduction quality before printing. As such, some images are stamped in red “2nd (or 3rd) Proof”, have folds or staple holes, or otherwise show normal use. These high quality reproduction prints are less durable than photographic or giclee prints but can be treated similarly. .
Included in this set of New York images (on the 95th anniversary of equal suffrage there):
Color poster of couple (small) from November 2, 1915 election, 1 ¾ x 3 ½ “
Color poster from the November 6, 1917 election linked to war effort, 3 ½ x 5”
Color poster from the November 6, 1917 election, “The Woman’s Hour has Struck,” 7 ½ x 8 ½ “
Photograph of lines of women marchers in white in the 1913 NYC suffrage parade, 11 x 14”
Photograph of suffragists in front of the WPU’s 1913 child-care Suffrage Tent, 11 x 14”
Photograph of women with pennants, “Suffragettes at Long Beach, NY, 1912, 9 ½ x 15”
