Jensen is one of the most innovative longboarders in history. Taylor was born in Lake Tahoe, California in March of 1984 but moved back to the beaches of southern California before he could walk. His introduction to surfing came from his Dad, Marty, on the beaches of his hometown of Coronado California at the age of 6. Although he excelled at numerous sports throughout his elementary and high school years, it was surfing where he made his mark. In November of 1997 he entered his first ever surfing contest and took second place. That same year he picked up his first sponsor and began to focus on professional surfing.

Since turning pro at 17, he has won almost every major professional longboarding event around the world at least once. He has numerous national and international accolades including 3 ASP North America titles and 2 Australasian regional titles. He has also been the face of international brands such as Bear, Oxbow, and Ocean Current Clothing. Although famous for pushing the boundaries of what a longboard can do, Taylor is widely recognized as someone capable of riding anything he puts under his feet. With a passion for riding all different crafts, from traditional single fin longboards to modern shortboards, Taylor is always looking for something new and different to try. In 2003 he got into shaping and riding wooden planks known as Alaia's.

Firewire designs some of the most technologically advanced surfing equipment in the world. Their use of innovative design and materials has the rest of the industry playing catch up. Words like Flex, Parabolic and Sandwich Construction were previously the domain of engineering forums. Thanks to Firewire they are now part of the everyday discussion surrounding surfboard design. Taj Burrow, one of the top surfers on the WCT swears by Firewire’s performance capabilities and his results certainly seem to back up the claim. Firewire continues to push the performance envelope, constantly introducing major innovations that provide a tangible performance advantage.
