Item Description
With his roots firmly planted in So Cal surf culture, Eric is a third generation waterman and artist from Dana Point. He has been surfing Salt Creek since he was three years old. Diamond’s passionate contributions, legacy, and heritage in the community runs deep with his event the “Cosmic Creek” celebrating 10 plus years of art, music and surf design. His father Daryl was an early pioneer in the surf industry and lived on the bluff above strands beach in the 60’s with legendary photographer Ron Stoner (Surfer Magazine). Eric was influenced growing up in the art world by his dad’s many friends, including Rick Griffin (San Francisco Rock artist Icon) and John Severson (Founder & original artist of Surfer Magazine).
Eric was a university art major graduate in San Diego and has had an illustrious 20-year career with Quiksilver and Billabong groups respectively, as a design director, but now focuses on his true passion for flowing, expressive paintings.
:I’ve traveled to so many exotic places in this wonderful world, but home is where the heart is, the magnificent contours of the headlands, the clarity of the water, and the rich unique history of this area’s surf art/culture inspire me, one cannot help being captivated and grateful for this coastline. This area may have changed a bit over the years, but the Ocean remains healthy, beautiful and I humbly call ‘Salt Creek’ my Soul Place!”
