Item Description
The board is 9' 6".
Hansen Surfboards was established in 1961 on Oahu's famous North Shore by Don Hansen. In 1962, Don moved the shop from the small shack on Kawela Bay to a larger building just across the street from Cardiff Reef in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California. It was here that Don's surfboard shaping business really began to grow. By the mid-1960's, Hansen Surfboards was shipping surfboards to many parts of the world. Many of Don Hansen's original shapes are still available today.
This board was donated and lovingly restored by master craftsman Danny Brawner. Danny is a Dale Velzy employee from the early days of Velzy’s surf shops and spent 35 years at Hobie Surfboards. He himself is a bit of a legend. Danny was the drummer and founding member of The Sandals, an early, influential surf rock band from the 1960s. The Sandals are most famous for scoring the surfing documentary, The Endless Summer.
The board was donated by Bob Warren.
