Item Description
One evening, I was waiting for a country pub to open for a trad music night. Across the road, in a field, I could see some sort of tumble-down stone structure so I went exploring. Hedges and a thick row of trees kept me from getting close enough to figure out whether I was seeing castle ruins or an old barn. Tromping through the weeds, I found this great old post box, still in use on a quiet country road. The letters on the box represent the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, an office in the governments of the Irish Free State and the Republic of Ireland until 1984 when it was abolished and replaced. Posts and Telegraphs--isn't that adorable?
The size of this photo is 5"x7". It is professionally printed and will be shipped to you flat in no-bend cardboard mailer.
Think about pairing this with my other auction item, a photo of Irish roses on a garden gate, for a really nice display!
