Item Description
The winner will receive an original artwork by Cristina Natsuko Paulos, local Las Vegas artist.
This piece is framed 20" x 16". It is paint, graphite, nail polish, and color pencil dye on illustration board.
Cristina Natsuko Paulos grew up in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California and relocated to Las Vegas in 2002.
She received her BFA from the California Institute of the Arts in the animation program in 2006. As an animator, she incorporates various techniques from animation and applies them to her work creating impressions of movement. Her work focuses on that of a mirror twin character and work based on life and portrait. She uses a variety of materials in her art making, including paints, inks, dyes, handmade papers, canvas, wood, and mixed media. During her studies at CalArts she was rewarded the Prestigious Sesame Street Award, which she created an original short cartoon for PBS’ Sesame Street Workshop. Her films have screened in film festivals in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Her artwork has be recognized and rewarded twice by the Nevada Art Council, attracting the attention of art collectors internationally. She has also collaborated with numerous puppeteers in toy theatre puppetry performances. She continues to show her artwork in various art galleries worldwide.
Cristina also creates in comics, painting, puppet making, cartoon, and works as a published illustrator.
