Item Description
A one-hour flight in a light plane over the city of Tucson or if desired, an area immediately outside the Tucson area.
ATTENTION FILMMAKERS: this is a great opportunity to capture some aerial footage.
Donated by Access Tucson member, Richard Rohrdanz.
Richard is an ex-B-52 navigator who became a pilot in 1990. He moved from the tiny town of West Kennebunk, ME to Tucson in 1994 for better flying weather and warmer temperatures. As a member of Bush Pilots International, Richard and his wife have flown to Mexico for whale watching on several occasions. In July of 2010 they flew to Oshkosh, Wisconsin to attend the Experimental Aircraft Association's annual convention.
His plane is a 150 mile per hour Piper Arrow III with retractible landing gear. The four-seat plane is hangared at Marana Regional Airport which is where your one-hour flight will begin and end. If you're not too timid you'll get a chance to take the controls - an awesome experience!
You may bring along one additional person on this ride. Don't forget your camera/videocam for some great pictures of the Tucson area!
