Item Description

Sam Offer serves as Vice President and consultant with the Washington Consulting Group, a Multicultural Organizational Development Firm out of Baltimore, MD. Sam has served as an educator and administrator in education for over 25 years.

A native Marylander, Sam earned his B.S. from Calvary Christian College with a concentration in Early Childhood Studies. Other studies include Sexuality, Religious and Spiritual Pluralism, Religious Issues within the LGBTQ community (particularly through a Christian lens), and Social Justice. Sam is an alumnus of Landmark Education and the Social Justice Training Institute. Sam serves as a lead facilitator for LeaderShape, Inc., and lead faculty for the Social Justice Training Institute: The Student Experience. He has spent many years working with the development of youth and young adults in education and within the community. Sam is a member of Maryland Black Family Alliance and is an advisor to Pride and Faith, organizations advocating equity of all people. Sam served as co-chair of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force premier conference, Creating Change 2012 and is chair of the African American (Black) People of Faith Caucus (MD) for the Human Rights Campaign.

Sam travels the world advocating social justice and equity for all humanity. He is known for his witty personality, style and love for the work he does. His work includes developing presentations and workshops for colleges, universities and businesses; developing and implementing curriculum for local religious and community organizations for engaging social justice issues; developing and implementing curriculum for engaging spirituality and religion in the workplace; facilitating group sessions and trainings on topics including leadership, organizational change development, spirituality, diversity, leadership and social justice.

He has served in music ministry for more than 40 years and currently serves as Minister of Community Relations and Outreach for Unity Fellowship Church, Baltimore, and is an ordained reverend in the Unity Fellowship Church Movement.

Sam is a noted consultant, facilitator and trainer on Diversity, Multiculturalism, Religion, Leadership, and Community Development issues. He has a way of engaging participants that will foster effective change in both their personal and professional lives.

Item Special Note

Time Frame of Service Offered
One hour keynote – or, up to two hours of a workshop presentation on the same day. Other formats such as additional breakout sessions and consultations may also be offered and negotiated between the Speaker and the campus.

Type of Audience 
It is preferred to provide the Speaker with a multi-school conference or professional association conference where a diversity of colleges or organizations is present.  Single campus events, staff presentations/training or conferenceare to be negotiated in advance prior to bidding.

Scheduling
All speaking engagements are to be scheduled within 12 months of the close of each Showcase and payment made to the Foundation at the close of bidding or upon invoicing (unless other arrangements are made in advance with the ACPA Foundation Treasurer.) Conversations about availability and scope of the services are encouraged between potential bidders and the speakers in advance of the Convention.

Travel Expenses
An additional $500 is payable directly to the Speaker for travel expenses and/or as otherwise negotiated by the university directly with the speaker.
