Item Description
Want to travel to an exotic destination but don't know where? Try this: seven days at an awesome and mostly deserted beach on Mandurah Bay in Western Australia, where summer's just around the corner! You and your friends or family will stay in a 2-bedroom private home just 200 yards from the beach and 1.5 hours from wine tasting in Margaret River Valley, the Sonoma Valley of Australia.
Recently declared Australia's fastest growing regional destination, the coastal town of Mandurah has become a vibrant tourist attraction, with a multitude of activities and entertainment throughout the year! Boasting an astonishing aquatic playground and cosmopolitan lifestyle, it's no wonder Mandurah is so popular to visit. With delightful restaurants and cafes, crystal clear blue water, and an abundance of activities for the whole family, Mandurah makes for a great getaway! Bunbury and Busselton beaches are an hour away, and offer great surfing or body surfing with dolphins. Fremantle is less-than an hour north, and is like a small San Francisco; a working port town built around tourism. Fremantle has a great Maritime museum now, and the micro breweries on the water serve good food. Perth is known as the "city that is farthest away from any other city in the world." As such, it has all the charm of a small town in a "big" city. Think San Diego 70 years ago.
The house is approx 450 meters from the beach and 5 kilometers from the town center, at 32 Cornwallis Road, Mandurah, Western Australia, in the neighborhood of (Old) Madora Bay. Bus service runs through the neighborhood to town every 20 minutes or so. There is a small pub/convenience store 500 meters from the house. They have "Sunday Roast" dinner specials, an OTB, beer on tap and karaoke too.
The house is basic furnished but has everything needed. There is a new 6 burner bbq out back with two picnic tables, and all the usual pots, pans, towels etc. There is no phone or internet yet, but the hosts have spare mobile phones they lend out to guests.
