Kirk Shorte is a professional photographer who captures the stunningly unique beauty of Kona and the treasures of Hawaii Island. A Kona resident since 2004, Kirk has been an avid photographer for many years, throughout his travels and high tech career in Silicon Valley. It wasn't until moving to Hawaii and becoming a permanent part of the community here that he began to hone his craft, his eye and discovering his particular creative niche.
"My inspirations are usually spontaneous, seeing a scene and quickly formulating a vision that carries it through. Sometimes all of the elements exist naturally, sometimes I enhance it with software . . . always with a twist that I hope makes my work unique."
In 2010 Kirk launched Shortini Photography. The business focuses on selling fine art-quality prints of his inspirational Hawaiian scenic photography, and also offers Kirk's talents for shooting cultural events, family, singles and couple portraits and landscape photography. Visit www.shortini.net for previews of his work or to schedule a sitting.
