Item Description

A very nice Frans Hals reproduction print of "Boy with Flute." The framed print measures 29" x 32". The artwork is ready to hang with a thin blue matte, a very nice lightly gilded gold wooden frame, and a hanging wire on the back. Frans Hals the Elder was a Dutch Golden Age portrait painter who lived and worked in Haarlem, though he was born in the Southern Netherlands (present-day Belgium). He is notable for his loose painterly brushwork, and he helped introduce this lively style of painting into Dutch art. Hals played an important role in the evolution of 17th-century group portraiture. Donated in loving memory of Catherine Usandivaras.
