Item Description
Janet Kucks has been painting since she was a child, but her real inspiration has come from plein air painting in Italy for over a decade. The natural colors and light added to the sense of place, people, food and wine are truly captivating. Janet studied Art and Graphic Design at The College of New Jersey, having zeroed in on watercolor during her senior year. She has been a watercolorist ever since. She continues to study under the guidance of many accomplished watercolor professionals and has won several local show awards. Her paintings capture the spirit of the outdoor light, shadows and brilliant local color.

Janet’s mask for the 2016 Mask Project was inspired by a photo taken by the artist in Venice, Italy and a gondola ride in on the Grand Canal in front of the iconic Santa Maria della Salute Basilica.
