Item 7070
Tessier Winery, Alameda
Case 2013 Pinot Noir
Value: $456
Created in 2009, Tessier is a micro winery handcrafting small lots of Pinot Noir, Grenache, Cabernet Franc and Viognier.
For winemaker Kristie Tacey, sustainability is a priority, not only in choosing vineyards that incorporate such farming practices, but in the footprint the winery leaves in the community. Her strong relationship with growers results in high quality fruit, and her minimal winemaking approach allows the grapes and vineyards to speak for themselves.
The Morelli Lane Vineyard, Russian River Valley, Pinot Noir has a muted garnet color. You’ll find a smorgasbord of smells: Boysenberry and mulberry followed by new paper, vanilla, cocoa powder, and root beer.
The palate offers sun-dried strawberries, a root beer float and a dusting of cocoa. Only 170 cases produced. 92 points from Pinot Report.
