German Non-Lidded Stein With Beautiful Branch-Style Handle
- Item Number
- 843
- Opening Bid
- 15 USD
Item Description
There is no lid on this stein. The pearlized rim on top has been worn by use. The dark blue-green background has some areas that are worn and slightly faded. There is a chip near the hole where the old pewter lid used to be. Pewter lids were often removed during the war to be melted down.
The handle is exquisitely designed and is made to resemble a branch with green grape clusters interspersed. The background of the handle and the mug is beige with brown highlights. The continuouse scene on the mug has a multi-tude of vibrant colors with raised detail. The scene shows a bevy of men drinking and courting young women while one female plays a musical instrument. On the bottom of the stein is 3 and Germany.
It stands 9 1/2" high. The opening at the top is 3" and the base diameter is 4 3/4". Besides what is mentioned above, the stein is in good condition with no cracks or crazing.
NOTE: Winning bidder is responsible for all shipping and handling costs, including insurance, if necessary.
