Item Description
Enjoy a gourmet dinner party for 6 at Botherum, an 1851 home listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Jon Carloftis and Dale Fisher will host you for cocktails, dinner, and tour of their garden and beautiful Lexington, Kentucky home. They will also escort you to other exclusive Lexington gardens they have designed.
Built from Kentucky limestone and situated on a lot nearly an acre in size, Botherum is the largest residential property in downtown Lexington. Botherum — named for a character in a play —is both architecturally and historically significant. The giant ginkgo tree in the front yard is said to have been a gift from statesman Henry Clay. Jon and Dale have meticulously and artfully restored this home, recently winning the Blue Grass Trust Historic Preservation Award.
Item Special Note
Kentucky native Jon Carloftis is an award-winning garden designer, garden writer, television guest, author, and lecturer. Dale Fisher is an AIB board member. Both are excellent cooks and together have grown Jon Carloftis Fine Gardens into thriving garden enterprise.
