Item Description

THE WARM GLOW AND HISTORIC LEGACY OF THE SCHOENFELD THEATRE CAN BE YOURS

The Shubert Organization’s historic Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, built in 1917, was originally named the Plymouth. To honor the late chairman of the Shubert Organization, the theatre was renamed in 2005. The theatre is located on West 45th Street, considered to be the most desirable street in the Broadway theatre district. The Schoenfeld’s first production was the play A Successful Calamity. Dozens of better remembered productions followed including The Skin of Our Teeth, Dial M for Murder, The Odd COuple, Plaza Suite, The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby,  The Heidi Chronicles and A Steady Rain.

During the recent renovation of the theatre, crystal lighting fixtures that had been in place for decades were replaced. Now one can be yours. This elegant flush-mount ceiling fixture is 12 inches in diameter and hangs 7 inches. Suspended from an embossed brass banding ring are five round tiers, descending in size. More than 120 sparkling and pristine Swarovski crystals hang from the tiers. The crystals are original to the piece. Fill your home with the warm glow of this vintage theatre fixture.

Your auction package also includes a coffee table book published by Abrams with stunning interior photos of the Schoenfeld Theatre in The Shuberts Present: 100 Years of American Theatre.
