If not for the tall palm trees dotting State Street sidewalks, or the grand presence of the historic Arlington Theater, a visitor to DIANI boutiques might think she was shopping in the Knightsbridge district of London or St. Honoré in Paris. Caroline Diani opened her first women's clothing boutique in the summer of 2002 with the idea that Santa Barbara should have a European-style boutique that marries chic, casual sophistication and exceptional customer service.

Using as inspiration the pristine Kenyan beaches of her childhood holidays, Caroline created a stunning retail space that draws upon her cosmopolitan roots and also reflects her appreciation for Southern California lifestyle. The success of DIANI spawned a sister store in 2007, DIANI Shoes, just a few doors down from the original to make sure clientele are exceptionally outfitted, head-to-toe. Both boutiques share the same graceful, beachy vibe with whitewashed floors, exposed-wood beam ceilings, unique driftwood accents and magnificent photos of her namesake Diani Beach. Most recently in the fall of 2014, the DIANI brand expanded once again with an inspiring home and garden store, DIANI Living, located in the same plaza.

Caroline, a British export, earned her degree in Fashion Design from Kingston University in London and has translated her lifelong study of style, which is immediately apparent in her boutiques. With an experienced eye, Caroline selects and assembles key looks and pieces from the finest American and European designers, then merchandises them together with the savvy of a seasoned stylist. The young entrepreneur believes "good design is timeless," and aspires to offer clients a distinctive shopping experience.

With quality and understated elegance as trademarks of the DIANI brand, the credo for both DIANI boutiques is simple: We want our clientele to always associate DIANI with style and comfort, and to see that we operate with a certain finesse unique to retail in Santa Barbara. We will always offer exceptional merchandise that will allow clients to make DIANI their one-stop for signature, standout items.
