About the New York Giants:
The New York Giants were one of five teams that joined the NFL in 1925, and is the only one of that group still existing, as well as the league's longest-established team in the Northeastern United States. The team ranks third among all NFL franchises with eight NFL titles: four in the pre–Super Bowl era (1927, 1934, 1938, 1956) and four since the advent of the Super Bowl (Super Bowls XXI (1986), XXV (1990), XLII (2007), and XLVI (2011)), along with 19 championship appearances, more than any other team. Throughout their history, the Giants have featured 28 Hall of Fame players.
New York Giant Shane Vereen was originally a 2nd round (56th pick overall) draft choice by the New England Patriots in 2011, then signing as a free agent of the Giants in 2015. During his varsity high school years, Vereen combined for over 6,000 rushing and receiving yards with 89 touchdowns. He also had a successful track and field career, recording the fastest 100-meter dash of any junior in Southern California in 2006, and was a member of the basketball team.
About the New York Jets:
The New York Jets team was founded in 1959 as the Titans of New York, an original member of the American Football League (AFL). The current name was adopted in 1963. The Jets advanced to the playoffs for the first time in 1968 and went on to compete in Super Bowl III where they defeated the Baltimore Colts, becoming the first AFL team to defeat an NFL club in an AFL-NFL World Championship Game. Since 1968, the Jets have appeared in the playoffs 13 times, and in the AFC Championship Game four times. However, the Jets have never returned to the Super Bowl, making them one of three NFL teams to win their lone Super Bowl appearance, along with the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
