Item Description

Join naturalist and author Peter Alden as he guides you on a 2-3 hour nature walk along the new October Farm Riverfront for 2-12 folk (children welcome) anytime in May or June.

The October Farm Riverfront is the new property purchased by the Concord Land Conservation Trust downstream and opposite the Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge.

There are three forested hills, vernal pools (one with a 100' Bald Cypress! and knees), and William Brewster's riverfront canoe house.

Peter can add a beaver pond walk in nearby Estabrook Woods. Focus will be on birds and plants.

Walk to be led by Peter Alden of Concord, author of the Audubon Field Guide to New England among 15 books. Peter organized the world's first
Biodiversity Days with Dr Edward O. Wilson. 2,700 species of fungi, plants and animals were found within five miles of Walden Pond on two July days.
He has also led and/or lectured on hundreds of bird and nature tours, safaris, cruises and private jet excursions to 100 countries for 50 years.

Item Special Note

Event date and time will be arranged when the bidder contacts the donor. Walk to be offered in May or June.
