Item Description

Don't miss this one-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet star of stage and screen Norm Lewis, over lunch at the legendary Chez Josephine in New York City's Theater District!

About Norm Lewis:

Norm Lewis is perhaps most widely recognized at the moment for his recurring role in the hit TV show Scandal.  He has a rich theater background, with accomplishments including making history: in 2014, Lewis performed as the first African American Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.  This spring, Lewis will take on the role of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street at the Barrow Street Theater.

Another highlight of his theater career was Lewis's performance as Porgy in Porgy & Bess on Broadway, which earned him Tony, Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle award nominations. Other Broadway credits include Sondheim on Sondheim, Les Miserables, Chicago, Amour, Miss Saigon, and The Who’s Tommy.  Off-Broadway highlights include Dessa Rose (Drama Desk nomination, AUDELCO Award) and Shakespeare in the Park’s The Tempest, The Two Gentlemen of Verona (Drama League nomination). Regional credits include Ragtime, Dreamgirls (with Jennifer Holliday), First You Dream, Sweeney Todd, and The Fantasticks.

Lewis has made many television appearances such as on PBS in Live From Lincoln Center's Showboat with Vanessa Williams, Norm Lewis: Who Am I?, New Year’s Eve: A Gershwin Celebration, American Voices with Renee Fleming and First You Dream – The Music of Kander & Ebb. Television acting credits include Gotham, The Blacklist, and Blue Bloods, as well as in his recurring role as Senator Edison Davis on the hit drama Scandal.

On film Lewis has appeared in Winter’s Tale, Sex and the City 2, Confidences, Preaching to the Choir, and the upcoming film, Magnum Opus.  He has also released a solo debut album “This is The Life”.

About Chez Josephine:

Chez Josephine is a bubbly return to the joie-de-vivre of Paris of the 1930s – le Jazz Hot with soul.  A tribute to legendary entertainer Josephine Baker founded in 1986 by Jean-Claude Baker, Chez Josephine offers a French-American menu and live piano music in an intimate Parisian setting.

This landmark jewel is inviting and romantic with its blue-tin ceiling, red velvet walls and cavalcade of chandeliers that light up vintage portraits of La Baker.

Ideally located on West 42nd Street along Theatre Row, Chez Josephine is a magnet for dining before or after the theater; as well as a Hell’s Kitchen haven for a leisurely dinner or quick drink at the zinc bar.
