Join David Fink on a Trip to Burgundy with Air Fare donated by Air France ,with appointments at Domaine de la Romanee-Conti and Domaine Leflaive to benefit the Big Sur Relief Fund. Lodging donated by Hostellerie de Levernois and Caviar donated by Black River Caviar.
Canyon Bridge the gateway connecting North and South on HWY 1 has been condemned and is in the process of being demolished. Over 1,000 staff are out of work and Iconic businesses like Nepenthe, The Big Sur Bakery, Esalen, Post Ranch and Ventana are all temporarily closed. I have had a love affair with Big Sur and Burgundy for over 30 years. I spoke with my dear friends in Burgundy to do a special auction lot for the Big Sur employees and residents most in need. I have arranged a very special once in a lifetime trip to meet me in Burgundy and stay at the luxurious Relais & Chateaux Hostellerie de Levernois, compliments of proprietors Susan & Jean-Louis Bottigliero. Air France our wonderful GourmetFest Airline Partner has offered to fly the lucky winners in Business Class from San Francisco to Paris (a $40,000 value). Over a 2-day period I will personally show you my Burgundy. Two lucky couples will travel with me and visit the Cote de Beaune and the Cote de Nuits. Highlights of those visits will include a tasting at Domaine Leflaive with proprietor Brice de la Morandiere, followed by lunch with Brice. Included in this lunch will be one of the rarest wines in the world, a magnum of 1996 Domaine Leflaive Montrachet. On the second day David will show the lucky winners the Cote des Nuits with a late morning stop at Domaine de la Romanee-Conti. Co-proprietor Aubert de Villaine will conduct a tour and tasting followed by lunch with rare bottles from the Domaine’s cellar including a DRC-Romanee-Conti. Our Caviar Partner for GourmetFest, Graham Gaspard of Black River Caviar has offered to donate a kilo of his wonderful caviar to the luck winners (a $6,700 value) Please join us in supporting our friends in Big Sur by bidding generously. Starting bid is $50,000 with $10,000 increments afterwards. We hope to raise at least $100,000 to donate to the fund.
