About Jayne Houdyshell:
Jayne Houdyshell has most recently received critical acclaim for her performance as "Deirdre Blake" in The Humans both in its Off-Broadway run at Roundabout Theater and in the Broadway transfer. Among the distinctions that Houdyshell received for this performance, she won her first Tony in 2016 for Best Featured Actress in a Play, as well as a Drama Desk Award and an Obie. Houdyshell is currently in rehearsals for her next role in the new Broadway play A Doll's House Part II, directed by Sam Gold.
Additional Broadway credits include Wicked, Well, Bye Bye Birdie, and The Importance of Being Earnest. Houdyshell's first Tony Award nomination recognized her performance in Well, and her second Tony nomination was for her performance as "Hattie" in the 2011 revival of Follies. Houdyshell also played the Nurse in the 2013 Broadway revival of Romeo and Juliet. Off-Broadway performances include Harrison, TX: Three Plays by Horton Foote, Coraline, The New Century, The Receptionist, Much Ado About Nothing, Fighting Words, The Pain and the Itch, Attempts on Her Life, and True Love.
Onscreen, Houdyshell has made numerous appearances on such shows as Law & Order, Third Watch, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Houdyshell's film credits include Changing Lanes, Garden State, Trust the Man, Everybody's Fine, and The Bounty Hunter.
