Item Description
This lot has two wines from the same grape, same winemaker, same year, and same property, but from different sections of the vineyard. Taste them together with friends and see the difference that terrain can make!
The Temblor Vineyard site is on a gradual slope that faces east. The soils are very well-drained, with tightly packed volcanic boulders and cobbles braided throughout – a result of the Rodgers Creek Fault line which is adjacent to the vineyard. This site is directly influenced by the Petaluma Gap, causing the fog to develop early and recede late in the day.
The grapes for the Heirloom Pinot Noir come from shy-bearing selections that produce small bunches and even smaller berries. Etude's winemaker prizes the ability of these small yeilds to produce wines that are both expressive of their genetic origins and the unique and varied site on which they’re grown.
