Item Description
In early 1900's CJ Kingston made the move to Casablanca Chile in search of gold. He never did find any gold, but settled a large cattle ranch 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean.
Today, Courtney Kingston Pflaum as the founder of Kingston Family Vineyards, has grown a business recognized as "among the best wineries in Chile" and for "making some of Chile's best Pinots". With a local reputation for pioneering and an emphasis on sustainable practices, she has helped make a name for Chilean wines in the US markets.
You can find Kingston Family Vineyards at K&L Wine Merchants, and at Bianchini's where you might see the three Pflaum girls after school.
2011 Alazan Pinot Noir - (91 points) This dense version displays a core of black cherry skin and wild berry notes that are well-integrated with juicy acidity and light tannins. Hints of grilled herb and hot stone settle in the long finish. -Wine Spectator
2014 Sabino Chardonnay - (90 Points) Pale gold. Incisive, mineral-tinged aromas of citrus zest and pear develop a deeper melon flourish with air. Pliant, focused and dry, showing very good intensity to the juicy honeydew, orange and bitter quinine flavors. Finishes minerally and persistent, with a sneaky anise note building slowly. -Vinous
