Signed first edition of Bitter in the Mouth, plus a liter bottle of her favorite amaro, S. Maria al Monte from Genoa, Italy, and a handwritten recipe that features it.
Monique Truong is a novelist and essayist based in Brooklyn, New York. Her first novel, The Book of Salt, was a New York Times Notable Fiction Book and the recipient of the New York Public Library Young Lions Fiction Award, among other honors. Her second novel, Bitter in the Mouth, received the Rosenthal Family Foundation Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Truong has been a PEN/Robert Bingham Fellow, a Princeton University's Hodder Fellow, a Guggenheim Fellow, a Visiting Writer at the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies, and a U.S.-Japan Creative Artist Fellow in Tokyo. A graduate of Yale University and the Columbia School of Law, Truong is also an intellectual property attorney.
