Item Description
Thanks to our partners at Saltwateer Ocean Depot and St. Columba's Retreat House, you and your guest will spend a romantic night at the historic Retreat House in Inverness, formerly the Frick family summer house, with spectacular views of Tomales Bay and adjoining Point Reyes National Seashore, and enjoy dinner for two at Saltwater, a short stroll away in "downtown" Inverness.
The retreat house offers contemplative solitude and spiritual nourishment in the beautiful environs of West Marin to groups and individuals seeking. You and your guest will spend a night in this beautiful, historic building originally constructed by members of the Frick family of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
St. Columba's Retreat House is a four-story historic 1930's summerhouse mansion converted into an Episcopal Church in the 1950's. The bonus of having once been a large residence enabled the small parish to offer a Hospitality Ministry with sleeping accommodation for up to 32 guests. Filled with nooks and crannies - fireplaces and books - soaring ceilings, with walls and floors crafted from knot-free, old-growth redwood, the ambiance offers a sense of timeless rustic charm. No room is alike; all possess their own special charm.
There are many lovely, separate spaces for guests to get comfortable - whether in solitude or to gather together - indoor and out! As a result, the Retreat House is a superior resource for conferences, meetings, workshops and seminars...or quiet time for reflection and meditation.
Saltwater Oyster Depot has become the go-to dining establishment in the quaint and historic village of Inverness on Tomales Bay. Here's what Remodelista had to say in their 2015 post: "Much to the delight of locals, Luc Chamberland fulfilled a 20-year dream with the opening of Saltwater Oyster Depot. The result? An airy, light-filled restaurant offering local oysters, fish, and a seasonally changing menu with accessibly priced beer and wine on tap. In short, a great new Inverness hangout for locals and tourists alike."
Enjoy old Inverness peace and serenity overlooking Tomales Bay, adjacent to Point Reyes National Seashore and the magnificence of West Marin, bid today!
