Chef Claus Meyer, chef and founder of world-renowned and former #1 Restaurant In The World, NOMA, has come to New York City to open a series of eateries showcasing Nordic Cuisine.
Agern Restaurant, headed up by Icelandic Chef Gunnar Gislason (formerly of Dill in Reykjavik) is situated in the halls of Grand Central Terminal. Though only opened for one year, Agern has already earned one Michelin Star, and three stars from The New York Times. The menu features farmed and wild ingredients from the New York State region exposed to time honored techniques, and flavors rooted in Nordic Cuisine.
Adjacent to Agern in Grand Central, The Great Northern Food Hall offers Nordic inspired food with seasonal menus that showcase the New York region’s best produce. Food Hall pavillions feature Nordic and Danish-style fare, and include: Meyers Bageri, Brownsville Roasters, Open Rye, Grain Bar, Almanak & The Restaurant, The Bar, Great Northern Deli, and Danish Dogs.
