Because of his heritage and current restaurant connections, Ron Pierre is particularly knowledgeable and appreciative of Italian cuisine. Thus, he eagerly grasped an opportunity to visit and subsequently import high quality olive oil from a multi-generational olive estate in Calabria, Italy. The farm produces EVOO that is immediately pressed (within 24 hours from harvest) and unmixed with any other cultivars. Agriculturally known as a “monoculture,” the oil is derived from a single olive variety, Ottobratico, exclusive to the province of Reggio Calabria and highly regarded by discriminating Italians.
This extra virgin olive oil is extremely unique in today’s marketing of mixed olive oils of lesser quality sourced in several countries and sold here in the US to uneducated consumers. The flavor of ‘La Foresta’ is full, with a slight peppery bite that enhances every dish it tops – salads, pastas, soups, meats, and grilled vegetables. To heighten the flavor and the healthy enjoyment of your meals, simply drizzle this special EVOO over your preparation as a finishing touch that is sure to please your palate every time!
We are so fortunate to have Ron share some with us, as his Sorrento Ristorante in Cleveland’s west side is the only place this wonderfully delicious olive oil can be purchased. This package contains six 500ml bottles and includes several of Ron’s favorite recipes that will enable you to bring a taste of Italy to your table. Also included is “Victoria at Table,” a collection of more than 175 recipes and entertaining advice, all richly illustrated with color photographs.
