Photographer Alec Soth (American, b. 1969) is best known for his large-scale projects depicting rural and hidden sections of the Midwest and South. He is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a city that he regularly depicts in his work. Soth's photographs have been featured in publications like The New York Times Magazine and Newsweek and he has received numerous fellowships and awards, including the Santa Fe Prize for Photography, the Bush Artist Fellowship , the International Center for Photography’s Infinity Award, and several McKnight Photography Fellowships, among others.
