Item Description
Museum Director Emerita Linda S. Ferber will lead an informal two-hour tour for ten lucky guests of highlights at the New-York Historical Society, the oldest museum in New York. Her tour will begin with the stunning installation—New York and America—on the first floor. The tour continues in the second-floor galleries where the permanent collections are displayed and special exhibitions are staged. The group will then survey the newly opened Henry Luce III Center on the fourth floor, the new, cutting-edge Center for Women’s History, and stunning Gallery of Tiffany, which highlights 100 glowing glass lamps, many of which were designed by Clara Driscoll and the “Tiffany Girls” of her Women’s Glasscutting Department. Last but not least, you’ll visit the extensive North Gallery, which showcases historic treasures from the Society's unparalleled permanent collections of art, historical artifacts, and material culture.
With Linda Ferber as your guide, your tour promises to be entertaining as well as educational!
This once-in-a lifetime tour will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time within the next year.
