Item Description

Delightful guesthouse, normally rented or filled with visiting family, with panoramic view over farm and coastal areas. One week for donation, can arrange longer visits by agreement. Lovely living area with vaulted ceiling and 4 meter window, with door to balcony and views. Two bedrooms, one queen, two singles, and loft sleeping with two more singles. Additional bed and crib on site. Delightful, brightly-lit eat in kitchen with all usual appliances including washer and dryer. Large (for Denmark) bathroom with separate long bath, shower etc.

Item Special Note

Ceramic studio (no electric wheel though, kick wheel), glass workshops, horseback riding can all be arranged (the providers do charge) before you arrive. This building, you have over 105 meters indoors) is from around 1860 and was built with many recycled materials back then. We have kept that approach and so have antique Belgian tile floors, stained glass in 3 places etc. Some floors are heated from beneath. Lovely gardens! With Bonfire and situated within a few hundred feet of maintained hiking and biking trails through wooded areas, farmland, and along the waterside - the latter of which you can use to cycle easily between numerous villages and beaches. We are 3 km. from Ærøskøbing, well known and appreciated by Travel Guru Rick Steves (Google the 2!). The island of Aeroe gets most of its power from 6 windmills, in fact generates well more than 100% by wind - but some goes into the grid. Heat is generated for many homes using solar hot water farms (yes, if you can do this in Denmark, you can do it anywhere!) and surplus energy needed for hot water in these locations is generated by sustainable means, burning local hay etc. The island is also steering the development of an electric ferry that has gotten much attention. Beyond that, we speak English and are available to assist. This offer is limited to one week for the donation made, and that week must be taken within 2018, excluding the weeks between June 15 and August 15th. May is recommended this year, as we expect many fields of glowing yellow Raps (Rapeseed plant) to be in full bloom. Sightseeing by air is available within 1 km from this property. Happy Bidding!
