Item Description
A beautiful Russian brooch in the Art Deco style. The base background of this brooch is black onyx banded in sterling silver. Taking flight across the onyx is a stylized Firebird studded with marcasite chips which glitter and catch the light, almost like diamonds, as folklore tells that the Firebird's feathers emit light. A small red stone is set as the eye of the bird to represent the Firebird's glowing eye. Two bands of sterling silver also accented with marcasite chips appear to criss cross behind the onyx base.
This piece is in excellent condition with only a single marcasite chip missing from the bottom left most band. Piece bears the sterling silver mark 925.
A striking brooch to adorn a lapel, scarf, hat....let your imagination go.
Measures: 1 5/8" wide and 1 5/8" tall (band tip to band tip).
