Item Description
Otto Neumann (1895-1975): 045017, Horses and Riders, linoleum print,
signed: "Otto Neumann 55", lower left, 21x15 inches
Neumann adapted his continual line drawing to compositions consisting of multiple figures with distinct parts of each form consisting of one line. Neumann would make variations of color and, sometimes add details, but each print is unique. The work combines a frieze-like approach to the figures and, at the same time, conveys dynamic movement.
This piece is signed by the artist and also bears the Estate Stamp on its back. The piece was bequeathed to Neumann's family in the United States following his death in 1975.
