Artist Statement
Strip Tease #7 was created as part of a series of drawings documenting burlesque. The tease of revealing and concealing nudity in burlesque makes the performance very seductive .
When considering the title of this show, Bodies: I Live Here, I thought of all the ways in which we exist in our bodies. Our culture often instructs us to hate our bodies, or if we are being sexual in our bodies it is usually supposed to be in a very serious way. Burlesque encourages people to enjoy bodies in a way that is playful, sometimes silly, and very sexy all at the same time.

She has taught Studio Art courses at various colleges, and currently teaches Drawing at the Community college of Rhode Island. Her work focuses on how the sexual self is formed and acted upon.
