Explore the rich French cultural heritage of the Loire Valley on board a paddle rivership.  You’ll travel round-trip from Nantes and visit Saint Nazaire, Ancenis, Angers and the Chateaux of the Loire Valley. Highlights include guided tours of the castles of Usse, Azay-le-Rideau and the Garden of Villandry, as well as wine tasting in the cellar of the Brissac castle and a helicopter ride to enjoy a stunning view of the Loire from above.

CroisiEurope’s Loire, A Royal Legacy cruises includes:

At the time of booking, you will choose your excursion package. Select from either the Classic Package (including City Tour of Nantes, Muscadet Wine Route, City Tour in Angers) or Discovery Package (Machines del Iles in Nantes, Helicopter Ride over the Loire Valley, Brissac Castle and wine tasting in its Cellars). Both packages include Erdre Cruise, St. Nazaire Shipyard and full day excursion to the Chateaux of the Loire Valley.

Your ship, the MS Loire Princesse, is a specially designed vessel for the river Loire. There are 30 cabins with picture window and private balcony on the Upper Deck and 18 double-occupancy cabins on the Main Deck. Ship capacity is 96 passengers. You will be allowed to take any cabin as long as availability allows.

All cabins have private bathroom with shower, hair dryer, safe, desk/dresser, flat screen TV, and telephone. The bed faces the window to better admire the scenery.

The ship has a Lounge/bar with large picture windows and dance floor, patio, restaurant with sit down service for all passengers at once, vast sun deck with chaise lounges, gift shop. Air-conditioning throughout entire ship and in each cabin. Free Wi-Fi on board.

The cuisine and menus are planned in the exacting tradition of fine French gastronomy.  Each meal on your cruise will give you a delightful experience of French haute cuisine. Lunch and dinner will be 3-course sit down meals prepared by their chefs. They serve a fixed menu of local specialties, prepared on a daily basis from fresh ingredients. Both lunch and dinner meals are paired with excellent complimentary wines. Meals are provided for people with food allergies or special dietary needs.

Itinerary:

DAY 1: NANTES

You’ll board the ship at 6:00 p.m. After settling into your cabin, you’ll meet the crew at a welcome cocktail before dinner.

DAY 2: NANTES - SAINT-NAZAIRE

Depending upon the package you select, in the morning you will either have:

CLASSIC: Guided tour of Nantes and the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany.
DISCOVERY: Nantes, the Machines de l’Île, secret courtyards and covered passageways.

In the afternoon, take part in an excursion for both packages: Tour of Saint Nazaire, a town on the sea. You’ll visit Escal’Atlantic, a museum that explores the historic ocean liner experience, and the Saint-Nazaire shipyard, one of the largest shipyards in Europe. Enjoy an evening of dancing on board.

DAY 3: SAINT-NAZAIRE - ANCENIS

You’ll spend the morning cruising towards Ancenis. In the afternoon, your excursion depends on the package you’ve selected:  CLASSIC : The Muscadet Wine Route and Clisson, a charming medieval town. DISCOVERY: Helicopter ride(2), the Loire from above. Enjoy an evening of entertainment.

DAY 4: ANCENIS - BOUCHEMAINE(1) - Angers

You’ll cruise towards Bouchemaine. Excursions will be either: CLASSIC: Guided tour of Angers, its historic districts and the famous Apocalypse tapestry.
DISCOVERY: Tour of Brissac castle and its cellars complete with a wine-tasting session. Enjoy an evening of entertainment.

DAY 5: BOUCHEMAINE(1) - The Châteaux of the Loire Valley - ANCENIS

There will be a full-day excursion for both packages to discover the Castles of the Loire Valley and return on board in Ancenis. Tonight's is the gala dinner and evening.

DAY 6: NANTES

Enjoy one last buffet breakfast before disembarking at 10:00 a.m.

The cruise schedule may vary according to tides and arrival times at ports of call may be subject to change. For the safety of the passengers, the captain and crew of the boat may decide to modify the navigational itinerary. (1) Depending on docking availability, the stopover in Bouchemaine may be replaced by Chalonnes-sur-Loire. In this event, the order of the visits could be altered. Subject to availability and favorable weather conditions.

Valid for one cabin (two guests) on any 2018 departure of CroisiEurope’s Loire, A Royal Legacy cruise itinerary. Reservations are subject to availability. Package must be redeemed within the 2018 calendar year with departure dates from May 26 through October 29, 2018.
