Come and enjoy the beauty of the Appalachian Trail in Cumberland Valley, Pennsylvania led by our own Outdoor Education Teacher, Geoff Baker! This Backpacking trip will cover approximately 6-10 miles per day starting in Boiling Springs, PA, and finishing around Caledonia, PA, near route 30. Total ascent 5,980 feet, total descent over that period is 5,500 feet-that is nearly 500 feet in total ascension!!! We will be staying at shelters on the trail, hiking sections 11, 12, and 13 of the Cumberland Valley portion of the AT Trail. Students will also go to the Appalachian Trail Museum which is the only museum in the country dedicated to hiking. It portrays and preserves the history and the physical, emotional and spiritual human experiences of the A.T.
