Have you ever wanted to sit down with a family member or friend and ask them to reflect on their life? Do they often tell stories and you would like to know more? Sometimes it just takes a few prompting questions and a little organization to get going. Your bid in support of MWS will get you this interview structure and one hour of interviewing with your family member or frend. I will prepare some questions and you can add whatever you would like and then prepare and audio or video recording for you to keep.
This interest for me really jump-started when I recorded my grandmother telling about her childhood during World War II in Czechoslovakia for hours. It perpetuates when I remember the recording of my great-grandmother telling about her experience as a child in World War I in Germany and when I read the 1880s diary of my grandmother's great-grandmother. All people have stories, and we can learn so much from them. What memories would you like to preserve? ~ Peter Fiala
