Item Description

The moving spirit for the Elks was an Englishman named Charles Algernon Sidney Vivian. Vivian was born in London and moved to New York City in 1867. There, he started the Order of the Elks.

This gavel is made from English silver maple wood and “Central Park Cherry.” It’s accented with buffalo horn and cork, each of which represents what might have been.

Grand Exalted Ruler Malcolm J. McPherson, Jr., will use this unique gavel for action associated with the legislative session at the Elks National Convention.

After the closing ceremony, we will ship the gavel to the winning bidder, along with a certificate of authenticity signed by GER McPherson and Grand Secretary Bryan Klatt.
